BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - EMT & AEMT
Basic Life Support (BLS) Providers know the essential skills to assist in life-threatening situations. Their education is the foundation for all other levels of care.
BLS Providers are educated in many skills to include: CPR, basic airway and oxygen management, administering medications for acute-care situations, and basic trauma support.
Within orientation you will learn to use more advanced equipment including, but not limited too, defibrillators, ventilators, IV pumps, High-Flow O2, etc. Every BLS provider has the opportunity to be sent on ALS calls. Learn more by submitting your application.
Minimum Certification Requirements: VA EMT-B, AHA BLS Healthcare Provider ((NREMT & EVOC preferred, but not required.))
ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT – ENTRY-LEVEL PARAMEDIC, PARAMEDIC II, & PARAMEDIC III
Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers are advanced emergency medical care providers who have built upon their BLS education and provide the highest level of pre-hospital and inter-facility care.
ALS Providers have received higher education in topics such as anatomy and physiology, cardiology, pharmacology, and medical procedures. They also provide additional skills including: administering medications; starting intravenous lines; providing advanced airway management; resuscitative and supportive measures to patients with significant problems.
We have different position levels based on your experience. 24 hour shifts available.
Minimum Certification Requirements: VA EMT-P, AHA BLS Healthcare Provider, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS. ((National Registry & EVOC II preferred, but not required.))
DISPATCHER
Emergency communication professionals (Dispatchers) are often the first point of contact a person has with AEC-MTRR. Dispatchers are responsible for ensuring that all incidents are processed rapidly and precisely, and communications are clear with providers, clients, and other contacts.
Dispatchers must gather essential information from callers and send the appropriate level of care to the incident. Dispatchers must be able to take control of situations that may be chaotic, stressful, confusing, or frenzied. They must also be organized, have the ability to multi-task, be a critical thinker, remain level-headed, and make rapid decisions in a stressful environment.
Minimum Certification Requirements: VA EMT-B or EMD, AHA BLS Healthcare Provider ((NREMT preferred but not required.))
